Das hat auch 16x16x8x8x und ist ohne NF200 Chip richtig, das ist aber das bessere von beiden, da durch den dusseligen NF200 Chip ne Latenz entsteht, die dir Performance im 3DMark klaut.

Weils Anfang hies, dass NVidia für Boards ohne NF200 Zertifizierung kein SLI freigibt. Ist nun dank treiber aber doch möglich.

Das Asus P7P55 Pro (Intel P55) im Detail

Intels Core-i5-Prozessor, die Mittelklassenversion der Nehalem-Architektur, kommt voraussichtlich Anfang September in den Handel. Die Dazu passenden Mainboards, die allesamt mit Intels P55-Chipsatz ausgestattet sind, werden dagegen voraussichtlich etwas früher an den Start gehen.

Wie auch schon beim X58-Chipsatz tauchen bereits vor dem Start immer mehr Bilder von Mainboards mit P55-Chipsatz im Internet auf. Dieses Mal hat es ein Exemplar von Asus erwischt, das den Namen „P7P55 Pro“ trägt. Man kann jedoch davon ausgehen, dass es von Asus noch einige andere Varianten für den P55-Chipsatz geben wird. Das P7P55 Pro trägt den LGA1156 für den Core-i5-Prozessor und ist mit vier DDR3-Slots ausgestattet. Sechs Slots sind aufgrund des fehlenden Triple-Channel-Speichercontroller in der CPU nicht mehr notwendig.

Darüber hinaus sind auf dem P7P55 Pro zwei PCIe-x16-Slots verbaut, die im Dual-GPU-Modus mit je acht PCIe-Lanes angesteuert werden können. Zusätzlich gibt es noch zwei PCIe-x1- sowie gleich drei altgediente PCI-Slots. Sechs SATA-II-Anschlüsse für Laufwerke stehen dem Käufer zur Verfügung, ebenso ein IDE-Anschluss. Auf der I/O-Blende kann man acht USB-2.0-Geräte anschließen (USB 3.0 wird nicht unterstützt) und findet ebenfalls einen FireWire-, eSATA- und LAN-Stecker. Ein 7.1-Audio- und ein optischer Digitalausgang fehlt genauso wenig.

Die EPU-2-Engine zur Reduzierung der Leistungsaufnahme ist bei dem Asus P7P55 Pro mit an Bord. Diese kann zum Beispiel die Stromphasen für die CPU ausschalten, wenn diese nicht benötigt werden. Derer gibt es auf dem P7P55 Pro acht für die CPU und noch zwei zusätzliche für den DDR3-Speicher. Die Kühlung ist zumindest auf dieser frühen Version des P7P55 Pro sehr einfach gehalten, lässt aber schon jetzt die Vermutung zu, dass die Verschmelzung aus North- und Southbridge zum neuen Chipsatz keine Hitzeschleuder ist.

Natürlich wird der I5 von der Performance nciht mithalten können, man muss aber auch bedenken wieviel Geld man mindestens in ein Core i7 investieren muss.
Wenn der neue Sockel deutlich günstiger wird, ist es imo durchaus eine Alternative. Denn bis auf den DualChannel Support gibt es kaum nennenswerte Unterschiede.

Mit dem ASUSP6X58-Premium-Mainboard wird der taiwanesische Hersteller nicht nur eine weitere High-End-Platine für die aktuellen Intel-Core-i7-Prozessoren auf den Markt werfen, sondern auch gleich Unterstützung für die neuen Standards USB 3.0 und Serial-ATA-III mit sich bringen. Letzterer wird in der Lage sein maximal 6 Gb/s zu übertragen. Ansonsten beherbergt das kommende ASUS-Flaggschiff nicht nur drei PCI-Express-2.0-Grafikkarten-Slots und unterstützt damit sowohl AMDs CrossfireX, als auch NVIDIAs Multi-GPU-Technologie SLI, sondern kann in seinen sechs DDR3-Speicherbänken auch bis zu 24-GB-DDR3-Arbeitsspeicher verwalten. Dazu gibt es einen PCI-Express-x1- und zwei weitere, herkömmliche PCI-Steckplätze. Gigabit-LAN und 7.1-HD-Audio runden das Gesamtpaket weiter ab. Speziell für Overclocker spendierte ASUS dem P6X58 Premium eine 16-Phasen-Stromversorgung und setzte die Power- und Reset-Buttons direkt auf das Printed-Circuit-Board (PCB). Auch auf eine leistungsstarke Kühlung legte der Hersteller großen Wert. So kümmert sich – wie für High-Ends-Boards üblich – eine aufwendige Heatpipe-Konstruktion um den Abtransport der heißen Abwärme.

Wann die neue Hauptplatine allerdings das Licht der Welt erblicken darf, ist nicht bekannt. Ebenfalls stehen noch erste Preis-Informationen aus. In Hardwareluxx's Preisvergleich sucht man das ASUS P6X58 Premium noch vergebens.
